Assalammualaikum and a very good morning to our readers. Yesterday, Unisel held an event of Maulidur Rasul Parade around 8 in the morning. The event was very exciting and everyone had fun walking around the campus. We would like to share with you all our experience.
We woke up a bit late then we intended to. We planned to wake up around 5AM as they were sirens waking students up for Subuh prayer. But because we were both extremely tired, we did not hear the sirens and our own alarms. we ended up waking up at 7AM instead.
We rushed as soon as we could, scared of missing out the parade. After we got ready, we drove the car as quickly as we could to the mosque as mentioned in the Whatsapp group of communication students. When we arrived, there were a whole lot of people there including the students and staffs getting ready with their banners and themed outfits for the parade. Even the lecturer's were there wearing colorful outfits.
For our faculty which is Faculty of communication, visual arts and computing, we all planned to wear batik over our heads and wear baju kurung for girls and baju melayu for boys.Luckily we were just on time when the parade started, Everyone was pretty excited to start.
We walked past the mosque to the library. After a few walks we start getting past the Visual arts Department, then the Canseleri and finally to our Canselor Hall.
The weather was pretty nice when we were walking. It was sunny, but wasn't excruciatingly hot.There was a slight cool breeze that made the activity more fun to handle.There were plenty of themes and colors along the parade. It was interesting to see people come together in Unisel on that day.
After we all gathered in front of the Cansellor Hall, everyone went inside and listened to a bit of a speech and the prizes for winners in the parade. There were many performances such as silat as well as nasyid by Kelab nasyid nuh ic.
After all the performances, it was time for the gift giving to the winners that are well deserved.
For the winners for the student category:
1st place: Persatuan Pelajar Pengajian Islam
2nd place: Kelab nasyid nuh ic
3rd place: Asnaf students
For the banner category:
1st place: Sahabat pusat islam
2nd place: Persatuan Pelajar Pengajian Islam
3rd place: Kelab nasyid nuh ic
Staff Parade category
1st place: Human resource
2nd place: Finance.
3rd place: Naib cansellor
Now for the most exciting category which is the Faculty category:
3rd place : Faculty perniagaan dan perakaunan
2nd place: Faculty pendidikan dan sains sosial
1st place:.........
FACULTY OF COMMUNICATION, VISUAL ARTS AND COMPUTING (CVAC)
WE WON! This is because the judges say our faculty's theme was so cheerful that it fit the theme on that day. So that we hit the brief right off the bat!.
After the winner's announcement, we were all dismissed with them giving us lunch before heading back to our hostels.
As a conclusion, we both had fun on that day especially when we won for the faculty category. We both hed back home to rest with a satisfying heart.
