1. We are unique.

We’ve heard this so much we’ve forgotten what it really means.

The American poet, Walt Whitman, once wrote, “I am large, I contain multitudes.”

We have hundreds of layers. These layers shift and blend. They form new permutations every day.

We like this and we don’t like that. We are good at this and we are bad at that. We’ve been here and not there. We know this and we don’t know that.

For this reason, and this reason alone, we can’t give up. The complexity of our character means there will never be another us. Ever. That’s incredibly precious.

Balqis lovely to share why new strength and new thoughts are important to our life.

     Strength is important because muscle mass diminishes as you age. Just like flexibility, endurance, cardiovascular health and balance, you must stimulate your muscles or else you will lose muscle mass. Strength training puts stress on your bones and helps to increase bone density.

 While a thought attracts another thought, it is like a chain, a bit like the domino effect continues. This is why our thoughts are influential and consequently it is very important that in the morning when we wake up we decide our first thoughts to decide the mood with which we want to live the day.

Why do we work in teams and what are the benefits of team working?

     Good teamwork is essential for high performance in any business or non profit organisation. Certain features of voluntary organisations and charities make developing teamwork even more important. As well as enabling better performance teams can bring other benefits. This is explored in more detail below.

Teamwork and performance

Good teamwork is essential in all organisations. It signifies that:

• ↠People are working towards a shared purpose and common goals and in so doing they are sharing their varied skills in complementary roles and in cooperation with each other.

Organisations are much more likely to perform well when their people work effectively as a team. This is because good teamwork creates synergy – where the combined effect of the team is greater than the sum of individual efforts. Working together a team can apply individual perspectives, experience, and skills to solve complex problems, creating new solutions and ideas that may be beyond the scope of any one individual.

As well as enhancing organisations’ performance good teamwork benefits individuals too. It enables mutual support and learning, and can generate a sense of belonging and commitment.
